19-year-old killed, 5-year-old taken to hospital after shooting in Killeen

KILLEEN, TX — A 19-year-old is dead and a 5-year-old is recovering after a shooting in Killeen Saturday afternoon.

Around 3:24 p.m., officers with the Killeen Police Department were dispatched to the 700 block of Houston Street in reference to a 911 call about shots fired.

When officers arrived, they found two male victims, one adult and one juvenile, suffering from gunshot wounds.

Officers performed life saving measures until paramedics arrived.

The 19-year-old was transported to Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center in critical condition, while the juvenile was transported to McLane Children's Hospital.

Killeen PD says the 19-year-old victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead by Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke at approximately 5:55 p.m.

Justice of the Peace Cook has ordered an autopsy to be performed at the Southwest Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas.

On Monday, the victim was identified as 19-year-old Cadarian Connell Parker.

Killeen PD says the current condition of the 5-year-old victim is stable with non-life threatening injuries.
