Man arrested for allegedly setting fire to house under construction in Nolanville

7th fire involving house under construction since August

NOLANVILLE, TX — A man was arrested for allegedly setting fire to a house under construction in Nolanville.

Around 7 p.m. on November 22, a structure fire involving a house under construction occurred in the 1900 block of Horatio Street in Nolanville.

Harker Heights Police units were in the area and saw the suspect vehicle leaving the scene with visible fire coming from the house. A traffic stop was initiated and one arrest was made.

Willie Lee Williams was arrested without incident and charged with arson for the fire on Horatio Street.

The Horatio Street fire was the seventh fire involving houses under construction in the area since August 17. At this time, investigators have determined the cause of the following fires to be intentional:

  • August 24, 2020 – 1909 High Ridge Trl.
  • November 13, 2020 – 2138 Mercer St.
  • November 22, 2020 – 1921 Horatio St.

The Bell County Fire Marshal’s Office, the Harker Heights Fire Marshal’s Office, the Harker Heights Police Department, the Bell County Organized Crime Task Force, the Texas State Fire Marshal’s Office, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and the United States Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms are investigating the fires.
