KILLEEN, TX — Killeen police issued 76 citations for speeding in a school zone on Thursday.
According to police, the traffic unit initiated a special school zone enforcement detail. The enforcement took place during a 1 1/2 hour period at the Pershing Park Elementary School zone.
The detail enforcement was citizen complaint driven about speeders in the school zone.
Officers issued 76 citations for speeding in a school zone, 17 citations other than speeding and two warning citations.
Killeen police wants to remind drivers to slow down and obey speed laws, especially in school zones.
