Killeen police investigating death of man found lying on Veteran's Memorial Boulevard

KILLEEN, TX — The Killeen Police Department is investigating the death of a man found lying on Veteran's Memorial Boulevard.

Police say around 11:09 a.m. on Saturday, November 2 p.m., someone was walking in the 1600 block of East Veteran's Memorial Boulevard when they saw 33-year-old Maikol Abdiel Colon lying on the ground.

After noticing he was injured and unresponsive, the person called the fire department.

Colon was pronounced dead by Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke at 11:30 a.m. An autopsy was ordered to be performed at the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas.

According to Killeen PD, detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division, Homicide Unit are conducting an investigation.
