KILLEEN, TX — Killeen City Councilman Gregory Johnson announced his intention to not seek reelection.

Johnson plans to finish out his second-term in office which will end May 2020. He will make a formal announcement in the coming week of his future plans to continue serving the community.

"My core goal while serving on the Killeen City Council has always been to ensure Killeen is the place where people want to work, play and grow their families,” Johnson said. "Planned Growth, Smart Government, Crime Prevention, and a Strong Economy have been instrumental towards achieving this goal.”

While in office, Johnson has fought to ensure citizen's tax dollars were managed effectively. He has also worked to reduce crime in the City of Killeen with the police department.

Johnson does remain a strong advocate for planned and balanced growth throughout the city.

“I remain fully committed to my duties, responsibilities and obligations as a city councilmember and will finish out my last term with grace, honor and service to fellow citizens and taxpayers,” Johnson said.

Johnson said he is proud to call Central Texas his home and looks forward to continue his service to the community.
