Car being pursued by Killeen police crashes into home causing officers to close several roads

KILLEEN, TX — UPDATE:

At approximately 6:30 am, Officers were in the area of Desert Willow Drive when they saw a suspect that has been involved in several shootings driving in a black stolen black sedan.

The suspect noticed the officer and immediately drove off; a short pursuit ensued. The suspect was traveling westbound on Fox Glove Drive failed to negotiate a left turn and collided with a residence on Bachelor Button and Killeen's tactical response unit was deployed.

Through the investigation, the suspect was not in the area. The residents in the home reported no injuries however their residence received major damage from the crash.

This investigation is still ongoing and information will be provided as it becomes available.

ORIGINAL STORY:

There is a high police presence in Killeen on Bachelor Button Blvd. Officers have closed off Autumn Valley and Bachelor Button, Butterweed Drive and Bachelor Button, Lavender Lane and Autumn Valley and Lavender Lane and Butterweed Drive.

Nearby residents are being advised to shelter in place and Killeen Police are currently working with Killeen ISD for those students who need to get to their bus stops or high school.

Please avoid the area and find alternate routes.
