HARKER HEIGHTS, TX — One Central Texas mom is beaming with pride after her 10-year-old son was included in a martial arts class in Harker Heights.

Nancy Marti said her son with special needs is a huge UFC fan, and he loves to watch his sister attend her Jiu Jitsu class. Her son, John Pineda, always had a blast the the classes.

Then this week, she said the professor of the class at Twin Wolves Martial Arts Academy approached her and asked if John would like to join the class.

"They don’t see the disability, they see his abilities and find a way to work with him and include him like the other kids," Marti said about the class.

Marti said she has never come across a more accepting community than what she has experienced in Harker Heights.

John even got his own uniform.
