FORT HOOD — Soldiers from the 1st Cavalry Division Sustainment Brigade and helicopters from the 1st Air Cavalry Brigade left Fort Hood to move closer to Hurricane Dorian's expected impact area.

The soldiers and helicopters will be used to assist "the agility and responsiveness of the U.S. Department of Defense," including moving personnel and equipment and, if needed, conducting search and rescue operations.

Hurricane Dorian has been downgraded to a Category 4 hurricane as it bears down on Florida's east coast.
