Fire intentionally set at Walmart in Temple, no injuries reported

TEMPLE, TX — A fire was intentionally set in the infant clothing section at Walmart in Temple Tuesday afternoon.

At 1:40 pm, today Temple Fire and Rescue responded to 6801 West Adams Ave, at the Wal-Mart Super Center for a possible fire.

Upon arrival, store associates were still evacuating patrons and fellow workers.

Using extinguishers near the area of origin, employees were able to extinguish the flames. As fire crews entered, they found light smoke had filled the building.

Further investigation revealed an area in the infant clothing that had been set a blaze intentionally.

There were no injuries reported at this time.

Temple responded with 1 fire apparatus, and several personnel from the Fire Marshal's Office. Temple Fire and Rescue's Deputy Fire Marshals are working with Temple PD, and Wal-Mart to obtain video footage, photos of the suspects, and photos their vehicle.

"As always, we would like to remind you that Arson is a felony offense," Temple Fire said.
