Crash on I-35 in Georgetown causes traffic to backup roughly 20 miles toward Salado

A crash on southbound I-35 in Georgetown has shut down the highway and forced traffic to backup for approximately 20 miles toward Salado.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash happened at milepost 270.

DPS says road conditions are "near impassable" due to melted ice refreezing again over roadways.

Texans are asked to stay home as much as possible.
