Belton ISD narrowing their superintendent search

BELTON, TX — Belton ISD is narrowing down their search for their next superintendent.

The district said that the Belton ISD Board of Trustees hired a third party search firm to help in the hiring process.

They said they looked at a diverse group of applicants - all from Texas.

32 Men; 11 Women
31 Doctorates; 12 masters degrees
Majority from larger districts
Current positions:
21 sitting Superintendents
11 Deputy/Assistant Superintendents
2 Chief of Staff
6 Directors/Coordinators
3 Consultants/Others

“We are very pleased with both the number and the high quality of candidates that have expressed an interest in the Belton ISD Superintendency. This outstanding opportunity attracted significant interest, David Thompson of Thompson & Horton LLC said.

Board President Suzanne McDonalds said that they will be extending invitations to interview for six candidates. There will be a second round of interviews, and then they plan on announcing finalist(s) on Jan. 27
