2-month-old in Killeen died because of skull fracture, babysitter says she threw the baby into the car seat

KILLEEN, TX — A infant's death has been ruled a homicide in Killeen.

The infant, Quan Kendrick Devis Scott, was two months old at the time of his death. He was born Nov. 13, 2019.

Police said that they responded to the 3600 block of Littleleaf Dr around noon on Jan. 14 to a report of a two month old child not breathing.

Officers and medics arrived at the same time and were administering CPR on the infant, according to the affidavit.

EMS advised prior to transport that the infant, identified as Quan Kendrick Devis Scott, did not have any signs of life.

Police say the infant was pronounced deceased upon arrival at the hospital.

According the the autopsy, conducted at the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences, a skull fracture was located on the victim.

The cause of death was identified as blunt force injuries.

The suspect, Shanqiue Shaniel Shavon Parker, was identified on scene as the babysitter of the victim and his siblings.

The affidavit says the suspect confessed that she threw the baby into the car seat causing the injury because she was frustrated that the children's mother has not come to pick up the kids.

Shanique Shaniel Shavon Parker was charged with injury to a child causing serious bodily injury.

Her bond has been set at $1 million.
