For Central Texans struggling with drug addiction, help is now just a phone call away.

The Cenikor Foundation is expanding it’s counseling services by opening a new substance abuse call center in Killeen.

LaRude’s Tattoos shop owner Rudie Nagar said that he knows how beneficial a drug addiction hot line could be for someone in need of help.

“A call center could be that disconnection between that obsession and freedom,” Nagar said.

Sober a year and 6 months, he said that getting help with finding the core reason behind your addiction is key.

"The drugs and the alcohol are just a symptom of the real problem," Nagar said.

Cenikor Foundation Vice President Amy Granberry said that new call center will be open every day of the year for those looking for a path out of their addiction.

“We are open 365 days a year so we don’t take off the holidays. We also have web chat and you can email us,” Granberry said.

Services that could be the first step toward healing for many people desperate for help.

“The absolute first step is calling and asking for help and then we do our best to connect people to the services they need,” Granberry said.

The substance abuse call center in Killeen can be reached by dialing (254) 690-4455.
