NAVASOTA, TX — According to their official Facebook, the City of Navasota is asking residents to boil their water prior to consumption due to a break in the waterline.

"To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and making ice should be boiled and cooled prior to use. The water should be brought to a vigorous, rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes. In lieu of boiling, you may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source." the city wrote in their post.

Once resolved, and it is no longer necessary to boil the water, the water system officials will notify the public that their water is safe for consumption once more.

For individuals with questions concerning this matter, you are encouraged to contact the City of Navasota at 936-825-6475, or if you are calling after 7 P.M., use 936-825-6410.
