LEON COUNTY, Texas — On Wednesday night, during the severe weather, two Leona firefighters were injured after driving to the scene of an accident on I-45.
Bob Hickman with the Emergency Management department in Leon County said the two — Jacob McCurry and Danny Milliken — were driving their personal vehicles to the fire station to get a truck when they both hit a downed pine tree near Ft. Boggy State Park.
They both suffered injures and are recovering.
Hickman explained that the county had a lot of trees come down overnight and is experiencing minor flooding on Thursday morning.
