Officers from the four Brazos County law enforcement agencies are coming together to raise awareness for childhood cancer.

During the months of November and December, police officers with the Bryan Police Department, College Station Police Department, Texas A&M Police Department and Brazos County Sheriff's Office will be teaming up with The Cure Starts Now Central Texas chapter to support the Beard it Up and Color for the Cure campaign.

The campaign allows officers to grow out facial hair as well as wear wristbands or colored nail polish while in uniform all while raising awareness for childhood cancer research.

NAME: VICKY BRIDIER. THE CURE STARTS NOW CENTRAL TEXAS CHAPTER.
"At The Cure Starts Now, we're all about a home run cure, because DIPG is 100% fatal," said Vicky Bridier with The Cure Starts Now Central Texas chapter. "It's the most aggressive cancer, and brain cancer especially in children, and so we knew that this was going to impact everybody nationally and internationally, so to us we were very honored to have all of our agencies in to support it."

All police, fire and EMS agencies are challenged to donate. Members of the public can donate by clicking this link.
