Nearly a dozen agencies responding to large grass fire near SH 30

Several agencies are responding to a large grass fire near Walker County Sunday.

Crews have been on scene since around 1:30pm at a wild land/grass fire in the East Wesley Grove/ Duke Road area, according to the Walker County Office of Emergency Management.

Approximately 100-125 acres have been affected at this time.

No injuries and no structures are involved but structures are threatened, the Walker County EMO said.

On scene in the air is Washington County Air Support, on the ground is Texas Forest Service with 2 dozers, Shiro VfD, Crabbs Prairie VFD, New Waverly FD, Huntsville FD, Emergency Management, CERT, EMS and private dozers.

Crabb's Prairie Volunteer Fire Department says it's a major fire operation with almost a dozen departments on scene responding.
