COLLEGE STATION, TX — On Feb 19, College Station's Utilities (CSU) took to their official website to clarify some misunderstandings about upcoming billing.

Firstly, CSU has suspended delinquent disconnects and late fees until March 1.

Regarding payments, no bills have been sent out that reflect electric usage during this Arctic blast.

According to their website, the most recent statements reflect usage only through Feb. 11. Bills covering Feb. 12 through the storm may be higher due to individual usage.

Additionally, Utility Customer Service wants locals to know they have added additional staff to help handle their call flow. CSU also wants to remind customers they will never disconnect electricity during freezing weather.

Regarding costs, the City of College Station will exhaust all available avenues to cover those costs before considering rate increases. Rates are among the many items the city council and city staff will discuss in August as part of the budget process. CSU plans to work with those needing assistance on payment flexibility.
