BRENHAM, TX — This November, the Blinn College's Pharmacy Technician Program has 11 new graduates!
In a statement, instructor Ashpreet Singh says the online program attracts a very diverse range of students.
“Some students enter this course with an undergraduate degree, some are in a health pathway and adding additional skills to their experience,” Singh said. “Some students are looking for a new trade and we have several students who recently graduated high school.”
The graduates have all completed 3 courses, 160 hours of training, and instruction on topics ranging from pharmacy law and regulations, to pharmacy inventory management and billing.
Now, all 11 graduates qualify to take the National Pharmacy Technician Certification exam.
After which, they can obtain their state license from the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, pharmacy technicians earn a median salary of $33,950 per year.
