COLLEGE STATION, TX — On Jan 28., the College Station city council approved renaming Castlegate Park after Alex Caruso, point guard of the Los Angeles Lakers.
Caruso grew up playing at this park, before going on to play at Consolidated HS, Texas A&M, and later on as an NBA champion. During the meeting, the council stated private donations will be sought to pay for these improvements.
As of Jan 29., the council still plans to hold a dedication ceremony this summer, sometime after the NBA season.
The measure passed 5-1, with John Crompton choosing to rescue himself from the vote and the discussion.
