COLLEGE STATION, TX — An 80-year-old contractor fell into an empty waste water treatment reservoir in College Station Wednesday.
He fell about 30 feet, according to the College Station Fire Department.
CSFD medics treated and stabilized him, then used ropes to secure him and extricate him.
"We called PHI AirMed 12 and they transported him by air," said Captain Stuart Marrs. "He was seriously injured, but stable."
CSFD has Technical Rescue Technicians on shift every day and technical rescue equipment at Stations 2 and 6 so they can respond to these types of emergencies.
