Temple teacher competes in 'America's Favorite Teacher' contest, wants to create a safe space for students

TEMPLE, Texas (KXXV) — As we wrap up National Teacher's Appreciation Week we wanted to highlight a special educator in Central Texas.

Mrs. Jordan Beeman is a second grade teacher at Thornton Elementary in Temple. She has been named a finalist in 'America's Favorite Teacher'.

She told 25 News that her favorite part of being an educator is knowing that she's making a difference in her student's lives.

One of the three prizes for this contest is $25,000. Mrs. Beeman said she wants to use the money to create a safe space area and a hygiene/essential goods room.
