A capital murder suspect will have another status hearing regarding his trial in 90 days.

Christopher Weiss who is facing charges for the deaths of Valarie Martinezand her 1-year-old daughter Azariah had a hearing on Friday.

Valarie and Azariah were found dead at Tradinghouse Creek Reservoir in Hallsburg in November. Last year, officials said Weiss was having a romantic relationship with Valarie until October 30, 2017. In addition, they said he was the father of Azariah.

During the court setting on Friday, prosecutors said they were still interviewing witnesses and compiling evidence. The defense said it is still waiting on discovery from the McLennan County District Attorney's Office.

Several friends and family members of the defendant and the murder victims attended the hearing. The supporters of the victims wore t-shirts that had a printed picture of Valarie and her daughter.

"We wanted to see how far he is going to take this. He has taken it farther enough. He might as well say 'guilty' and get it over with. Honestly. He has done enough. They deserve justice, no doubt about it," Valarie Martinez' friend Jennifer Smith said.

Weiss pleaded not guilty for capital murder charges earlier this year.
