The Harris County Constable's Office Precinct 5 Chief Brian Harris has confirmed that the man hit by multiple cars on I-14 on Saturday was Darrel Glen Kees - a man wanted for multiple robberies. He has died Thursday morning after succumbing to his injuries.
Kees was spotted by Bellmead Police Department on Saturday on the side of a county road, and after a short pursuit, he was able to escape police.
Later that day, Harris said the Killeen Police Department saw Kees "staggering". When police approached him, Kees ran into traffic and got hit by multiple vehicles.
Harris said Kees was wanted for an aggravated robbery out of Harris County. He was accused of robbing a CVS in Katy on March 6. Kees was also involved with four other pharmacy robberies.
