Kristi Staebler, a mother whose family loves the sport, is working on starting a rugby team in Waco.
Staebler has been working with Texas Rugby and are looking to find rugby certified referees, assistants, fields to play on and children from fifth and sixth grade to sign up.
Staebler thinks that the high sportsmanship game may be a good fit for other students who are not in sports already available.
"I think bringing this to the area, it opens up a whole new chance for other students that wouldn't be able to play other sports, necessarily," said Staebler.
A Facebook page was created to provide updates and more information about signing up.
