Fairfield Independent School District will close for the rest of the week due to widespread illnesses within the district.
The district said on Wednesday many of the students are experiencing flu, strep throat or stomach virus, so they will close on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1 to clean the campuses.
The district said with the staff and students out of the buildings, the cleaning crews will be able to do extra cleaning.
