BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — An emaciated dog was discovered by Buffalo Sanitation workers inside a garbage tote in the frigid morning hours on Tuesday. The dog, who has been named Charlie by his rescuers, is now in the care of the SPCA Serving Erie County.

According to the SPCA, Charlie's body temperature was dangerously low and he was clinging to life but is now making some progress. The dog is now able to eat but remains in the SPCA's Intensive Care Unit.

The exact address where Charlie was found is not being released but SPCA officials say it was in the vicinity of Bailey Ave. and Walden Ave.

If you know anything about this case, call SPCA investigators at (716)-875-7360.
