Texas Rangers to speak at Waco's 20th First Pitch Luncheon

The Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to announce members of the Texas Rangers Baseball Club as guest speakers at the 2019 First Pitch Luncheon. The First Pitch Luncheon is 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 17 at the Baylor Club.

According to the Texas Rangers Baseball Club’s LinkedIn page, the Texas Rangers, a professional baseball team located in Arlington, Texas since 1972, are committed to providing a fun and safe atmosphere for families and fans at Globe Life Park in Arlington, a passion for baseball that extends to all levels of ballpark staff, and a commitment by players and the front office to field a competitive team that plays to win.

The First Pitch luncheon will also include a preview of the upcoming baseball and softball seasons presented by Baylor Baseball’s Head Coach Steve Rodriguez and Lady Bear’s Softball Head Coach Glenn Moore. McLennan Community College Baseball’s Head Coach Mitch Thompson and Highlassies’ Softball Head Coach Chris Berry will speak about their programs.

The luncheon will feature the presentation of the Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce Sport Luncheon Scholarships, which will award scholarships to two outstanding students in McLennan County. Additionally, the luncheon will present the Annual Texas Sports Hall of Fame Award.

New this year is the addition of a silent auction! Bidding on the silent auction will begin when the doors open at 11:15 a.m. with a variety of items up for bids, including overnight trips, sports memorabilia and more.
