DALLAS (AP) - Dallas police have accused a 35-year-old man of capital murder in the death of a 3-year-old boy who was wounded with a knife.
Police Sgt. Warren Mitchell said in a statement Sunday that officers responded to a call at about 6:30 p.m. Saturday to find Brandon Edwards hanging out of a second-floor window. Mitchell says Edwards jumped but officers apprehended him.
Officers then found 3-year-old Bryson Edwards in the apartment. He died at an area hospital.
Brandon Edwards' wife, who was not named, had fled the apartment with their 7-year-old daughter to call police.
Jail records show Edwards is accused of capital murder of a person under 10 years old and aggravated assault. He is facing $1.75 million bond. Records did not list an attorney for him.
