Kim Mulkey picked up her 550th career win, but more importantly the Lady Bears opened Big 12 play with a win in Lubbock, 73-56 on Sunday. Following an emotional victory over No. 1 UConn Thursday, Baylor wasn't its sharpest, however, a 15-point halftime lead allowed for the Lady Bears' two posts, Kalani Brown and Lauren Cox to get some rest and allow freshmen duo Queen Egbo and NaLyssa Smith to shine. Egbo posted a season-high 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for her second-straight double-double (DNP vs. UConn) while NaLyssa Smith continues to be steady for Baylor off the bench with 14 and seven, respectively. Smith has scored in double figures in 10 of 12 games for BU.
The victory in Lubbock marked the 27th consecutive road win vs. Big 12 opponents in the regular season and Baylor moved to 15-8 all-time in Big 12 openers.
