Local leaders in Bell County met tonight to strategize better ways to protect homeowners from flooding from Nolan Creek.
A recent study takes a hard look at new ways to better safeguard residents from future incidents and plan for the future.
Major flooding events in Nolan Creek claimed a life, and cost thousands in damage in recent years.
“If we did all this and it helped just one person gain awareness or help save a life. But the mitigation efforts that you can take to prevent damage from your property...even just one person that’s how valuable this is,” said Uryan Nelson, of the Central Texas Council of Governments.
The study is expected to come to a wrap in August.
