The second victim of a shooting in Killeen succumbed due to her injuries over the weekend, the Bell County Sheriff's Office said.

Major T.J. Cruz said 71-year-old Linda Gillen died on Saturday after she and her husband, 75-year-old William Gillen were shot on Dec. 10.

At approximately 7:21 p.m., Bell County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a welfare concern at 735 Slawson Lane called in by a family member. A deputy arrived on the scene and tried to make contact with the residence.

The deputy heard a woman cough and saw her move slightly. The deputy also located a man with what appeared to be a gunshot wound and was dead at the scene.

After entering through an open garage door to the residence the deputy saw Linda shot as well. An EMS was contacted and she was transferred to Baylor Scott and White where she died from her injuries over the weekend.

An autopsy was ordered on William, and the preliminary autopsy has the manner of death as a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The complete autopsy is still pending.

This is an ongoing investigation.
