Due to inclement weather, the flag raising ceremony by Navy Operational Support Center, Waco Honor Guard at the Doris Miller Memorial will take place today, December 6 at 3:30 p.m.
The Doris Miller Memorial Dedication will be on Pearl Harbor Day Friday, December 7 at 12:00 Noon inside the Bledsoe-Miller Community Center, at 300 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, Waco Texas.
The 9-foot bronze sculpture of Doris Miller was created by Eddie Dixon of Lubbock. Construction of the Doris Miller Memorial was designed by architect Stan Carroll of Stillwater, OK.
The ceremony keynote speaker will be Rear Admiral Keith Jones. Special guests include members of the Miller family and crew members of the decommissioned USS Miller.
