For families of fallen soldiers, the holidays can be challenging. The Gary Sinise Foundation is stepping up to make it better.

Saturday, Dec. 8, the Foundation will host an official send-off celebration for its Snowball Express program at the Killeen Fort Hood Regional Airport. The Express program will host a five-day experience for 1,722 children, including their surviving parent or guardian, at Disney World in Orlando for a holiday retreat. Fifty-eight total passengers (including 36 children ranging from 2 to 17) will represent Killeen Fort Hood families.

Before departing from Killeen Fort Hood Regional Airport, families will enjoy various activities, presentations from the Fort Hood Command, food, and a patriotic spirit line for the families as they board the airplane.

The Express trip is made possible by the Foundation’s donors and presenting sponsor American Airlines, who is providing the air travel, flight crews and hundreds of team member volunteers, donating their time and energy to make it a memorable experience for each family. The send-off party begins at 5:45 a.m. from Gate Area 4-6, South Concourse.
