A man under arrest for public intoxication and assault punched and kicked a doctor during a medical examination, according to the arrest affidavit.
The affidavit says on Nov. 11, Matthew James Taylor, 24, was taken to Seton ER in Harker Heights for a medical evaluation due to his extreme level of intoxication after being arrested on Fort Hood.
As a doctor was attempting to treat Taylor, he sat up in the bed and punched her in the face, and then kicked her in the face and chest.
The doctor reported that she fell backward into a medical device and hit her head. She told officers she felt pain in her face, chest and head.
Taylor was given an additional charge of assaulting an emergency medical services personnel. He was booked into the Bell County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
