A local teacher is using her life to inspire her students in a creative way.

Stephanie Pulaski is a second-grade teacher at Raye Allen Elementary School in Temple, and now she is adding published author to her resume.

She is the author of “Bella and Lily,” a new children's book that takes you through the adventures of a dog that has been adopted into a military family and all the struggles that go with it.

Stephanie said she wrote the book about her dog and family in hopes that children will be able to relate more to a fun and true story.

“It is a true honor and privilege when walk up to you and say I really loved your book. So, I am happy I am helping to encourage children find the joy of reading and they love it. So, I'm thankful for that,” said Pulaski.

Stephanie says “Bella and Lily” is just one book of a series that she plans to add to each year.

The book is available at Barnes & Noble as well as online on Amazon.
