Robinson ISD says a rumored threat against this morning's high school pep rally is not credible. As of Friday evening, one student was arrested and charged.

Superintendent Michael Hope says the Robinson Police Department acted quickly to investigate the rumor which spread over social media and text Thursday night.

It did not find any credible evidence to support the rumor.

Hope says students created and circulated the rumor.

Robinson police said that during their investigation, they found that a male student was involved in the rumored threat. The juvenile was arrested and charged with making a false alarm involving an institution of education, a state jail felony.

The superintendent thanked the department and said: "We all must continue to work together to keep our children and community safe."

The investigation is ongoing.
