Pink is not a fashion statement at Ellison High School, it’s the catalyst for change.

Todd Wright, the new football coach to the Ellison High School, implored his football team, as well as the volleyball team, to not simply wear pink as a “fashion statement” during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, but to make an effort towards tangible change. And that’s exactly what they have done.

Players from both teams have raised $2,000 in the name of breast cancer research and will be presenting their large contribution check to the Director of Development & Foundation at Metroplex Health System.

The event takes place Monday at 6 p.m. in the Commons outside the cafeteria on the Ellison High School campus.
