The campaign for Senator Ted Cruz hosted a rally in Waco on Friday night.

Hundreds packed Knox Hall at the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame for the event, which had representatives of the National Border Patrol Council in attendance.

Stephanie Amy who supports Cruz said she attended because he believes in the conservative values of the Republican candidate.

"I'm not surprised by this turnout. This county has been proven to be a red county and we are going to show out again that we are going to elect Ted Cruz as our U.S. Senator," Amy said.

Sen. Cruz encouraged attendees to volunteer, support his campaign with monetary donations, talk to others about the campaign and vote.

"Speak out and use your voice of why low taxes, low regulations and lots of jobs. Why that matters to you. Speak out about why it matters to secure the borders and stop sanctuary cities," Sen. Cruz told the crowd.

In addition, he highlighted how he differs from his Democratic opponent Beto O’Rourke.

He also referenced his support for the confirmation of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

Earlier this month, O'Rourke made a campaign stop in Waco.
