On Saturday, Sept. 22, the Mexia High School Class of 1999 will be raising funds for one of their classmates trying to adopt.
A volleyball tournament and BBQ is planned at the Mexia High School Gym and it starts at 10 a.m. The funds will go toward Wendy Burks, who is a Mexia teacher. She and her husband, also an educator in Mexia, are hoping to adopt a baby and her classmates are hosting the fundraiser to help with that journey.
The Burks have a GoFundMeaccount set up to help bring Baby Burks home.
