Temple firefighters responded to a reported fire on Thursday.

According to Temple Fire and Rescue, at 12:53 p.m. there was a reported fire at 1901 SW H K Dodgen Loop at the McLane Children’s Hospital Scott and White in Temple.

An investigation determined an outdoor Oncor Electric transformer near the emergency department failed. There was no fire inside the building, but a smoke odor inside the electrical room of the emergency department was present.

Everyone inside of the department was safety evacuated for a short time. There were no injuries to bystanders, staff or patients, according to Temple Fire and Rescue.

The hospital’s emergency generators provided power to the building until Oncor Electric restored the power.

The last unit left the scene at 1:52 p.m.
