Marlin Police Chief Michael Pesses will be retiring, City Manager Alan Grindstaff confirmed.
Grindstaff said Pesses felt it was time to retire.
Pesses became police chief of Marlin in June 2017. Previously, he served as a lieutenant with the Bexar County Sheriff's Office for 26 years.
The previous police chief, Damien Eaglin, resigned from his position, citing a hostile work environment.
Pesses' last day will be October 1, 2018.
