China Spring football has a new head coach, he just has the same last name.

Offensive coordinator Brian Bell has moved into the head coaching chair after his father, Mark, retired this offseason.

The junior Bell will look to add a few new wrinkles to the offense to accommodate freshman quarterback Brayden Faulkner and the ten returning starters from last season's playoff team.

"See I don't think there's any changes. Coach B just took the ball and kept rolling. He's so good he picked up on the program's work ethic and just kept it going," said senior defensive back Payton Spell.

Even with the new wrinkles, Bell maintains he isn't trying to reinvent the wheel. China Spring will look the same and while Mark is still the athletics director, this is Brian's team to run.

"My main thing is wanting to continue at China Spring what we were doing in the past and hopefully that continues to win. As much as people -- is a shock to people -- he's staying away and letting me do my own thing but if I have a question he's there to answer it for me."

China Spring takes on Lorena week one of the season.
