The Lampasas County Fire Departments worked to put out two fires in the county believed to have started by lightning strikes on Thursday.
The first fire was about 10 miles outside of Lampasas on Farm-to-Market 580 W. The second fire was about four miles west of Highway 281 on Farm-to-Market 581.
The Lampasas City Government said forward progress on both fires were stopped by 7 p.m.
