A Bell County man arrested and charged with several counts of possessing child pornography has been sentenced to 10 years.
Officials said that during an investigation, they saw that an IP address at a home in Belton was making images of child pornography available on a file share site. Officials identified a suspect, Richard Scott, 38.
A search warrant was served at the Belton home and officials seized several electronic storage devices. Scott confessed that he was using the file-sharing site to download, trade and possess files of child porn.
Scott was charged with five counts of possessing child porn and is being held at the Bell County Jail on a $375,000 bond.
Scott was indicted on the charges Aug. 8. On Sept. 20, he accepted a plea deal with the Bell County District Attorney's office. He was sentenced for 10 years in prison.
Scott will be eligible for parole in two-and-a-half years.
