Waco police officers were treated to a pizza party on Tuesday thanks to the generosity of a nearby business.

Employees from BELFOR Property Restoration were welcomed in by hungry officers as they carried stacks of pizzas into the Waco Police Department during lunchtime.

This thoughtful gesture was done across the county by more than 120 BELFOR offices. Employees delivered 3,000 pizzas to local police departments as a thank you for their bravery and service to the community.

Paul Allison, account manager for BELFOR in Waco, said this small act of kindness was the least they could do for the folks who put their lives on the line each day.

"These guys and gals work long hours and it's a thankless job," Allison said. "Like one of the officers told me a few minutes ago, people don't call us just to chit-chat. People call us when there's a problem or when something's gone wrong. It feels good to be part of something positive, in recognizing and honoring our police departments."

Photos and videos from the deliveries were shared on social media using the hashtag #BelforSalutesTheBlue.
