On May 31, Rico Doyle was found guilty of killing Kysha Edmond-Gray and Deanna Buster. He will now spend the rest of his life in prison without parole.

Now, her family and friends are trying to move forward.

"To bury one of your children and to hear the sound of the dirt hitting that casket and you know you will never see them again on this earth, it hurts," Gray's Father, Jessie Edmond Jr. said.

The pain is one that Jessie Edmond Jr. and his Wife, Delilah, experienced first hand when their daughter, 42-year-old Kysha Edmond-Gray, was shot and killed three years ago.

"I look at her picture daily and I come by the grave and look at the grave," Gray's Mother, Delilah said.

Gray was the manager of the Former Village West Apartments in Killeen and was one of two women killed by Maintenance Worker, Rico Doyle on April 21, 2015. It's a day that Gray's three children said they will never forget.

"You're auntie just banging on your door talking about, you're mom is dead, you know you think it's a dream at first and then it actually hits you," Gray's Son, Jeremiah Phillips said.

Even though it was hard to move forward, Gray's children now live every day for their mother.

Gray started the Steady Mobbin' Street Ryders Car Club in 2012, it's a piece of her legacy that has been kept alive by family and friends.

"I think she would be very happy that we didn't let it go, we didn't let it die with her," Gray's Daughter, Keren Edmond said.

In fact, the car club continued with an annual event to raise money for the charities they sponsor. Now, that Gray's killer was convicted, the event will have an even greater purpose.

"I won't say that it's closure, but we finally got a little bit of peace knowing that the person that took her from us did apologize," Steady Mobbin' Car Club Member, Kris Ealy said. "This annual is the one annual for us that is going to be more of a celebration because now we get to celebrate the life of Kysha."

A celebration that started Friday morning with a balloon release in her honor.

The celebration of Kysha Edmond-Gray continues on Friday at 9 p.m. at the R&B karaoke Barin Killeen, and again Saturday at 9 p.m. at Obok in Killeen.

In addition to music and food, the car club will also be raising money to donate to the family of Deanna Buster who was also killed by Doyle.
