The China Spring Volunteer Fire Department responded to a grass fire that burned 15 acres near Appaloosa Lane and Wortham Bend road on Tuesday morning.
One person was treated on scene for minor injuries.
According to Lt. Trentin Bolden, when firefighters arrived, the fire was moving toward Wortham Bend Road. At first, it threatened seven buildings. However, firefighters were able to put out the flames in 45 minutes without damages to homes.
China Spring Volunteer firefighters advise people to have a water source in case there are sparks or flames.
Speegleville Volunteer Fire Department and Waco Fire Department assisted China Spring.
The fire remains under investigation.
