The Central Texas community is joining a six-month-old's fight against a kidney disease.

Olivia Cossey was born on Jan. 22, 2018. She was delivered at 35 weeks due to pregnancy complications.

At 28 weeks, Olivia's parents, Amber and Michael, found out their daughter may have polycystic kidney disease.

When she was born, doctors confirmed the diagnosis. Olivia was born with a collapsed lung.

She had both of her kidneys removed in March.

Her parents said her kidneys were larger than the average adult kidney.

Olivia is currently on dialysis, waiting for a kidney transplant, which she can't have done until she is at least 30 pounds.

On Sunday, hundreds gathered for a benefit in West to help the Cossey family with the medical and travel expenses.
