A teen in the McLennan County State Juvenile Correctional Facility has been charged for assaulting a juvenile correctional officer on July 5.

According to the affidavit, 18-year-old Timothy Davis approached JCO Cristino Ibanez and leaned towards him. He made a movement with his head which is consistent with spitting.

Davis also picked up a shoe and threw it at the ceiling, breaking several tiles.

He then struck JCO Ibanez on the left side of his face with a closed fist.

Davis was restrained by another youth and escorted to the front of the dorm where he was then turned over to security staff.

JCO Ibanez completed his shift before going to the Corsicana Emergency Room. He was treated for a contusion below his left eye.

He has been charged with assault on a public servant.

Davis has been held in the McLennan County State Juvenile Correctional Facility since May 24.
